What You Can Expect:

We’re looking for a talented SIEM Engineer to join our dynamic Security team at Zoom. As part of the Security Monitoring & Logging division, you will help implement, enhance, and manage the tools and technologies that protect our infrastructure, detect threats, and enable rapid incident response. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data engineering, security operations, and scalable architecture across hybrid environments.

About the Team:

As a Zoom SIEM Engineer, you will work across a variety of modern security technologies and ecosystems, including:

• Big Data Technologies & SIEM: (e.g., Splunk)
• Data Pipelines: Cribl LogStream & Search
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure
• Authentication & Identity: IAM, RBAC, SAML
• Networking & Security: WAF, IPS, AV, DLP
• Infrastructure: Physical, Virtual, Public Cloud, Data Center environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain real-time data pipelines, using tools across Linux OS, regex, networking, SSL certificates, and Splunk or Databricks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect, normalize, and route log and event data through streaming pipeline ingestion, aggregation, and custom workflows.
• Support and enhance onboarding processes for new data sources and services.
• Design and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerting systems to automate and improve pipeline observability and SIEM effectiveness.
• Perform system administration and platform maintenance tasks (mainly on Linux).
• Conduct platform health checks, resolve incidents, and escalate as needed using task management systems (Zoom Docs, ServiceNow, JIRA).
• Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support (monthly).

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or equivalent work experience.
  (Alternatively, 4 additional years of IT experience may be considered.)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT engineering or technical support, with at least 3 years in data engineering roles.
• 3+ years of Splunk administration (SPL fluency, onboarding, certified preferred).
• Strong background in:

1. Linux OS, regex, SSL certificates
2. Data routing and log handling in Splunk or Databricks
3. Cloud and virtualization technologies (AWS, GCP, etc.)

• Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting/automation tools.
• Deep understanding of network, application, and system security principles.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
