Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and professional Accountant to join our team in a cost and operations-focused role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately calculating product and project costs, maintaining cost data, identifying variances, and supporting financial planning activities. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, production, and procurement to ensure cost efficiency and operational accuracy across all stages of production.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate per-product and per-project costs by including raw materials, labor (design and production), overheads, packaging, and shipping.
- Track real-time production costs and reconcile them with initial cost estimates after project completion.
- Maintain and update the Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost databases to ensure accurate and current costing information.
- Identify and analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions to improve cost efficiency.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate cost data and analysis.
- Prepare and present cost reports for operations and leadership teams for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment across departments.
- Monitor inventory usage and material wastage and report any inefficiencies or anomalies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing cost-related documentation and reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or packaging.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of production workflows and cost drivers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
